Iron On Labels

ONCE™ Iron On Name Labels

PLEASE NOTE – this set of instructions are for our ONCE™ Iron On labels, and differ from the instructions for our normal Iron On labels. Please double check which product you have before beginning to apply your labels!

Our specially formulated ONCE Iron On name labels are incredibly strong and easy to apply. However, it is incredibly important to make sure your iron is at the right temperature, and that you’re holding the iron to the label for the correct amount of time. Following these simple instructions will ensure that the name labels stay permanently attached:

Turn your iron off steam setting to “dry mode”, then set the iron temperature between 160-190 degrees or cotton setting
Peel the label off the sheet and place it on your chosen garment name side up. Please note, iron on labels should not be ironed on to your clothing’s care labels, instead iron directly onto the fabric itself.
Using the part of the iron plate where there are no steam holes (it will give a more even distribution of heat) hold the iron flat on the label, making sure the iron is over the whole label. Apply heat for six seconds - it needs to be long enough for the label to bond to the fabric.
As you lift the iron, sweep it across the label to make sure the edges are sealed.

Use a thin pressing cloth for delicate fabrics - do not use a tea towel, as they are too bulky, and the correct heat will not be applied to the label.

Iron On Name Labels:

These are the instructions for our normal Iron On labels, the instructions for our ONCE Iron On labels can be viewed above!

Turn your iron off steam setting to “dry mode”, then set the iron temperature between 130-170 degrees or middle or wool setting
Apply heat for 10 seconds - it needs to be long enough for the label to bond to the fabric.
Allow your garment to cool before repeating step three a further two times, so that your label has been pressed and cooled a total of three times overall.

Use a thin pressing cloth for delicate fabrics – do not use a tea towel, as they are too bulky, and the correct heat will not be applied to the label.

Sew In Name Labels

Our printed Sew in labels are made from the same, durable nylon fabric as our Iron On labels. This means you can cut them to any shape and size you would like before sewing them in, without any worry of them fraying at the edges!

Cut your labels to the shape and size required
Place or pin the label to your garment
Sew in - how you sew depends on personal preference. Some people choose to sew around the whole label, where some only sew both short ends. Whatever works for you!

Tagg On Name Labels

Our Tagg On labes come with pictorial instructions on the plastic packet you receive in the post! If you’ve misplaced this you can view it below.

Remove the label from the backing sheet and if it’s a large tagg-on label loosely fold in half. If you have our small tagg-on labels then there is no need to fold it, as the pin simply goes through the top part of the label.
Place the ‘pin’ on a hard surface. Find the part of your garment where you would like the label to be placed, and push the fabric on to the pin followed by the label. Ensure the ‘pin’ stays straight when garment and label are fixed.
Place ‘cap’ over the ‘pin’ and push to the base of the ’pin’.
Simply snap off the spike part of the ‘pin’.
Remove any excess plastic to leave a smooth surface e.g. with your thumbnail.

See the pictorial instructions below – please note, these show only our large tagg-on labels. If you have purchased our small tagg on labels you do not need to loop the label. Simply press over the pin as it is.
